Are You Sure

If you died right now, are you sure you would go to Heaven?

One of the most important truths the Bible teaches is that we are all sinners. Romans 3:23 tells us very plainly, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Each of us, at one time or another, has been a part of making mistakes, wrong decisions, and doing things that we later wished had never happened. Jesus is the only man who ever lived a perfect and sinless life. The rest of us need his help to keep on the right track toward Heaven so that we can one day be with Him.

The Bible teaches that there is a price to be paid for sin. Romans 6:23 says, "...the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

God sent Jesus, His only Son, to come to earth as a man. Jesus died on the cross to save each of us from the sins we have committed and He paid the price so that we could have eternal life. This eternity is not for everyone, but it is for those who confess their sins to God and ask for forgiveness of these sins. Then and only then are we free to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. With His help, our future will be brighter because we can rely upon Him and call upon Him, not only in our times of need, but also in our times of happiness and great joy. Jesus is the answer to all our questions, our problems, our ups and our downs. It is through Jesus that we are able to know the right thing to do, and it is by His help that we are able to do it!

Romans 5:8 says, "But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus paid the penalty for all sin when He shed His blood and died on the cross."

We read in Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." What does whosoever mean? The whosoever is ANYBODY! That means YOU too! All you have to do is call on the name of the Lord Jesus, and He will save you!

It's so easy! Just pray this simple prayer!

"Father God, I know that I am a sinner. I ask forgiveness of my sins, I confess my sins, and I repent of my sins. Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for me, on the third day rose from the grave and presently sit at God's right hand. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Take control of my life and make me the type of person that You want me to be. I accept You as my Lord and Savior and pray this in Your name, Jesus. Amen."

Congratulations! You have just been saved! You now can rest in the assurance that you will have eternal life in Heaven!

We are so happy you have called upon Jesus, and if you sincerely said this prayer, you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and Jesus has come into your heart. We look forward to spending eternity with you in heaven!

As a next step, we encourage you to do the following things to grow in your faith:

Attend a Bible-believing church and make a public profession of faith. Now that you are saved, the first thing Jesus wants you to do for Him is to let others know that you have accepted Him. Jesus died for you and now He has saved you. Here is your chance to do something for Him.

Tell others. Begin to share what Jesus has done for you with your friends, family, co-workers and strangers! Let others know they don't have to face life without any hope.

Romans 10:10 & 11 says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed".

We don't want to be ashamed of Jesus because Jesus was not ashamed of us. He publicly hung on the cross when he died for our sins!

In Matthew 10:32, Jesus says, "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in Heaven."

Isn't it wonderful to know that Jesus will tell God about us because we have told people here on earth about Jesus! If we confess Jesus, then Jesus will confess us before God the Father. This is our opportunity to do something for Jesus, and He will acknowledge us to God because we are not ashamed to tell others about Jesus. Going forward during a church service, once the invitation is given, is our opportunity to show people that we are not ashamed of Jesus. In fact, you can tell someone right now too. Just pick up your phone and call someone you know. Tell them that you have just received Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. And this Sunday we will be thinking about you as you go forward in your new Bible-believing church to tell the pastor your good news!
